The current version of PetPoint – Version 3.0 - additionally contains over 250 user requests. Here are some of the highlights:
Look & Feel: We’ve given PetPoint an entire face-lift in a 1024x768 format for greater efficiency with more information fitting on-screen at once, requiring less scrolling on pages
.
Animal “Jump-To’s”: Users can “jump to” the animal function from the current page by using the new buttons we’ve added, eliminating the need to look up an animal on each page.
Admin Security Center : Administrators can now specify how secure their database passwords must be and lookup all users with specific Security Roles in their database.
Post-Mortem Module: Users can now track post-mortem activities for animals, such as burials, cremations, necropsies, and remains returns.
Animal Hold Enhancements: When placing a hold, users can now look up the person to “hold for” by clicking the “find” button.
Animal Reference Number (ARN): Users can now record an additional number for animal records directly on the animal screen, rather than adding it as a Pet ID.
Animal Profile: The Animal Profile is on a separate screen, allowing users to Jump-To it from other areas in PetPoint. In addition, users can now look up the animal they wish to link as a “buddy” using the “find” button.
Deceased Animals: The DOA check box for deceased animals eliminates the need for an outcome, while still allowing users to record the Intake Subtype for an animal.
Contracts: All contracts have been re-formatted for mailing in standard business envelopes. 5 different envelope styles that are compatible with the new format are available at great discounts through the Staples Purchasing Partner Program.
Receipts: The new customizable Discount Types field on receipts and the new Gift Card tender type allow for further receipt accountability and tracking.
Kennel Card Library: The new library already contains several new card formats (5x7 and 4x6 size); redesigns of the original 2 cards; as well as an 8x10 Adoption Flyer that looks great at adoption events! We will continue to add new versions of the cards based on ongoing feedback.
Lost/Found: A lost/found flyer can be generated once a lost/found report is submitted
Clinic Outcome: This new Outcome type means that animals which come in as a clinic type can go back out as a clinic type, rather than via the Return to Owner Outcome.
Services Intake/Outcome: This new set of Intakes/Outcomes can track other activities an organization provides, such as boarding, training, or daycare. Animals can be linked to an owner, an agency, or both under Services.
Transfers: A drop-down menu of “transfer out reasons” has been added to track the reason that an animal left in a transfer.
Jurisdiction: We’ve now added this field to all intakes & outcomes, so users can track not only the jurisdiction that the animal came from, but also where it went for every animal.
System Alert: In the Admin Options: Company Info page, Administrators can add up to 5 email addresses that will be notified in case of a system alert, such as planned maintenance on the PetPoint servers.
Advanced Animal Search: Users can now search for animals many ways - click the advanced button on the search box for a pop-up of the animal screen. Users can search for animals that have arrived / departed by the date range, too. For example, users can search for black animals that were not altered that arrived between May 1 and May 10.
Person Relationships: We’ve added the ability to link person records together on the Edit Person screen. Administrators can define the types of relationships that users record, such as spouse, roommate, family member. When adding / updating relationships, users can quickly search for the person they are linking, mark the relationship as active or not, and even choose whether or not to include the person on mailing labels.
Exam Redesign: The administrator can now set up which parts of the exam are included, based on the exam type, as well as separate exam conditions into symptoms & diagnoses. There is also now a tabbed format for each section, instead of one long screen. “Performed by” has been added to each section, so that users can record if someone different administered the vaccine than did the overall exam. Users can also link tests, procedures and medications back to established symptoms & diagnoses. The administrator is also responsible for establishing which parts of the exam are required, and which tab is seen first when an exam is created.
Location View Report: This inventory-at-a-glance report can now be filtered by the cage occupancy (empty or occupied).
Void & Backdate Receipts: Managers and administrators will be able to void and backdate receipts.
Sort-able Search Lists: Results lists will have clickable column headers in the search grids for quick re-sorting of search result lists.
...we are confident that our record keeping accuracy is improved through the Petpoint system
At The Haven-Friends For Life we do almost 2000 adoptions per year and need to maintain records on a daily population of 1200 animals. We are very pleased to be able to offer our customers the free insurance package and we are confident that our record keeping accuracy is improved through the Petpoint system. We are particularly excited that, for the first time, facilitated by the petpoint system, accurate data with a significant sample size is being collected so that we can truly begin to analyze trends in various aspects of rescue. I believe that this may be Petpoint's most significant contribution. Through the analization of data collected in a standardized form we can finally separate fact from fiction and in the future determine the most effective adoption strategies.
