Care Final Euthanasia

In this section you will learn:

What is Care Final Euthanasia?

Care Final Euthanasia is the second step of a euthanasia for an animal that allows you to record details of the euthanasia, who it was performed by, and mark the animal as deceased.

Prior to These Steps - This help file documents the second step in the Euthanasia process.  You will need to first enter the animal through Outcome Euthanasia before you can use this screen.

Step 1 - Select the animal that you would like to enter Euthanasia information for.  All animals that are in pre-euthanasia status will appear on this list.

Step 2 - Once selected, you can enter in the euthanasia details. Method, Substance, Manufacturer, Product and Amount Used and also Performed By are all required fields. Your selection will then display a default choice for Manufacturer and Product, which can be updated if the actual product used was different than what was set by your admin on Add/Edit Item.  If needed, you can add in more than one Substance, Manufacturer, Product and Amount used if various drugs are required for the euthanasia process.  You can also show other details like Assisted By, Body Weight, Jurisdiction, Amount Wasted, and Container Number.

Note: Clicking the Cancel button at this point (once the animal is selected) cancels the euthanasia completely, removing the animal from the Care: Euthanasia screen. The Outcome: Pre-Euthanasia will be removed from the record and the animal will become Active again. Do not use the Cancel button to exit out of a Euthanasia without completing it, simply click away to another area of PetPoint.

Step 3 - Click Submit after the details are entered.  When successful the system will display a message of: Euthanasia is saved for Animal
