The Merge Duplicate screen is accessed via Admin > Admin Options.
In this section you will learn:
Example: In this example, we will be merging two person records.

Step 1 - Select whether a person or an animal record you are merging by choosing one of the two radio buttons at the top of the table. This will display either search bar. Also, choose which record you will search for first, the Keep or Merge record. Search for the Person or Animal.

Step 2 - Next, identify which of the two merging records is to be the Keep Record, and which is the Merge Record. The Keep record will not be deleted, the merged record will be overwritten if there is a discrepancy in the information given. (For example, you cannot have two home telephone numbers and if they are listed differently the one that will remain is the one on the Keep record.) After the merge it is possible to review the merged record for discrepancies.
Select first one, then the
other.

In the example, two Person Records are being merged. The administrator has deemed that P03366020 will be the Keep record and P05336852 will be merged (and deleted if the merge is successful).
Step 3 - Click on the Merge Record button. The record is now merged. When successful, the screen will show a message: Merge is saved.

To commit the merge, click on Mark Reviewed, which will open the two records side by side so that you can be sure not to delete the wrong one.

Scroll down and click continue to finish reviewing the merge operation.
You will now see a checkmark next indicating that this Merge is now fully committed.

Click on Mark Reviewed to review the merge operation. If for any reason, the operation needs to be reversed, click on Undo Merge to return the two records back to their original state.
